Artist Evelin Garcia, of Jacksonville, said she loved the idea of flowers, but never liked how fast they die. Through her creativity and skills, she designed beautiful crochet flowers that have become a local hit.

Kenneth Wheeler has been painting windows in Smith County for about 30 years now and every time the Chiefs are in the Super Bowl, Wheeler gets his yellow and red paint ready to show his spirit.

The owner of Catch Me If You Can is looking for community support after her husband was diagnosed with stage five kidney failure. Amanda Longacre’s husband, Casey, currently has a kidney only functioning at 13 percent.

JACKSONVILLE, Texas — After over a decade of being closed, a country club in Jacksonville was bought by the city and has finally opened their doors for a new event center. The club house at the Cherokee Ranch, now known as The Jackson, has recently been renovated as a venue and could be a big economic driver for the city. In 2022, the city bought the building from the Jacksonville Economic Development Corp., who own the golf course.
