    CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — Heavy rainfall caused massive flooding to occur in several parts of East Texas including Cherokee County this past week. As officials are continuing to monitor road conditions, County Road 1405 near Highway 204 remains underwater and a threat to drivers in Cherokee County. The congregation of over 60 members previously fled China due to religious persecution earlier this year. China Aid and Freedom Seekers International has helped them non-stop and have now found them a new permanent home in Midland.

    TYLER, Texas — The Tyler City Council approved a $150,000 grant from the East Texas Council of Governments to help with operating Tyler Transit on Wednesday. This offers riders a solution from having to worry about being able to afford the proposed double increase to rates and the cancelation of Saturday services. Over the recent years, Tyler Transit has been faced with several operational costs and has combatted this issue during the Fiscal Year 2024 budget process.
