MANSEHRA: Over 400 students and teachers, stranded in the mountainous Siri Paye meadow of Shogran area here, were rescued in the early hours of Monday as the area recorded the heaviest snowfall of the season. “The bumpy four-wheel track connecting Shogran tourist resort to Siri Paye was blocked to traffic due to the heavy snowfall leaving over 400 students and their guardians stranded. We managed to safely rescue all of them,” Rescue 1122 district emergency officer Abrar Ali told reporters.

MANSEHRA: The Chinese company executing the Dasu hydropower project in Upper Kohistan district on Saturday denied sending its Pakistani workers on forced leave. “A notification circulating on social media has falsely claimed that we [our company] have instructed our Pakistani workers to go home on leave due to a dispute between Wapda and the local community. MANSEHRA: Three people, including two army soldiers, were killed and another sustained injuries when a massive boulder detached from a nearby mountain along Karakoram Highway and rolled down over a passenger coach in Loter area of Upper Kohistan on Monday. “Two army personnel and a civilian were killed when a landslide hit the passenger coach,” Rescue 1122 official Abdul Rehman said.
