    HOSPITALS are facing a serious staffing crisis that could put patients in danger, figures reveal. A survey across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland showed two-thirds of shifts do not have enough nurses to guarantee safe care — a 63 per cent rise in a year. The biggest concerns were on maternity wards and injury rehab units. The poll also found red flag events, where patient safety is at serious risk, were reported on more than half of all shifts by healthcare staff.

    SIR Keir Starmer today insisted he's "really pleased" with the Supreme Court trans ruling and declared a woman is an "adult female". Commenting on the landmark judgement for the first time, the PM said he welcomes having "real clarity" on the issue. Sir Keir previously argued "trans women are women" and even said that one in every thousand women can have a penis. But back from his Easter holidays this morning, he said that "a woman is an adult female, and the court has made that absolutely clear".

And 61 per cent believe the roads they use every day are in a shocking state.  It comes as the RAC predicts 19million getaways will clog up motorways this weekend in the busiest Easter since 2022.  The Sevanta poll revealed that 72 per cent of drivers in the East of England say their roads are falling apart.  The South West and South East are not far behind, with 71 per cent slamming the state of their local streets.
