SAN DIEGO: Biotechnology company Illumina has appointed Julie Hiner as head of communications. Hiner reports to Illumina CEO Jacob Thaysen and she was appointed to the role in January. Neither Hiner nor an IIllumina spokesperson knew who held the comms head role previously. Hiner told PRWeek that her role encompasses global external communications, executive communications, employee communications and social media.

SEATTLE: We. Communications has upped Dawn Beauparlant to global president, a new and expanded role, effective April 8. Beauparlant continues to report to global CEO Melissa Waggener Zorkin and will also retain the title of CEO of North America, according to a We. Communications statement. She will work closely with Waggener Zorkin and the agency’s global executive team.
