Hello Bluesound Node Nano!Goodbye Raspberry Pi? Steve Graham ponders the possibility of a Node Nano sending his music-playing Raspberry Pi into early retirement.  True ConfessionsUp to this point, I haven’t taken the Bluesound Nodes seriously. I mean, no thick aluminum front panel? Come on!  No full width chassis? Get real!  Audio snobbery at its worst? Guilty as charged. Don’t get me wrong, my NAD Masters 50.2 music player has been a joy to use.

Verdict: While the NAD turntable comes standard with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, we thought it would be useful to upgrade that with a Nagaoka MP-110 cartridge, and the final results bore out our wishes.

Retro Review: Q Acoustics Concept 20 – A Small Monitor With A Big SoundMSRP: $900 (Canadian) Direct marketed and also retailed. Verdict:  The main strength of the Q Acoustics Concept 20 is neutrality. This results from the unique cabinet design (discussed below) which reduces cabinet resonances to a vanishing level. Rarely have I heard a more neutral transducer.

Review by Noam BronsteinI thought I’d get clever and talk about how cables are the vascular systems of our hifi’s. But I’ll just go ahead and say it: I hate cable reviews. I don’t read them, and I try my best to avoid writing them. Of course, I know there are many worthwhile cables to try out (and I do). Writing about them could be a worthy endeavour, but not for me. I don’t push cables, and avoid giving cable advice, as much as possible. The reasons are many.
