The hospital’s landscaping team joined forces with nurses on Sunday morning to deliver around 20 bouquets of freshly cut roses to women who gave birth in the hospital’s women and newborn center. The annual event, called “This Bud’s for You,” first started 17 years ago.

Vista Sheriff's Station deputies responded to the crash at about 6:01 p.m. yesterday. The San Diego Sheriff's Office said the driver failed to navigate a right turn in his sedan and struck a tree. Four others were transported to nearby hospitals for injuries. The accident happened on the I-805 freeway near the Palm Avenue exit. California Highway Patrol officers said all lanes on the southbound 805 north of 43rd Street were blocked due to the collision.

Del Mar racehorse dies from training injury

DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) — A six-year-old horse was euthanized Saturday morning after a right front ankle training injury, according to track officials. The horse was named Elector and his trainer was Sean Williams. Elector had 17 career races, coming in first place three times. The horse's most recent win at Del Mar was on Aug. 18. Track officials say Elector is the fifth horse to die from an injury at Del Mar this year.

Ramona, Calif. (KGTV) — A trailer fire left one person and two dogs dead Saturday night, according to the sheriff's department. Cal Fire and sheriff's deputies arrived at 18000 Cinnamon Rock Road in Ramona after reports of the fire. The sheriff's department says the trailer was completely burnt after firefighters distinguished the fire. Deputies found the remains of a deceased person and dogs. Detectives from the bomb/arson unit and homicide unit are still following up on the investigation.
