The Delhi High Court has issued a slew of directions for smooth rehabilitation of the Madrasi Camp dwellers in the national capital, while ordering that the demolition of the camp will commence from June 01. A division bench comprising Justice Prathiba M Singh and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora observed that the demolition ought to be done in a systematic manner and that rehabilitation of the Madrasi Camp dwellers is also essential for the de-clogging of the Barapullah Drain.

The Delhi High Court has closed a plea filed by Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra against allegedly defamatory social media posts made against her by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai. Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora disposed of the application after Dubey's counsel informed the Court that the impugned post on Facebook has been deleted. Dehadrai, appearing in person, submitted that he will also take down the post from his X handle.

A Delhi Court recently deferred pronouncement of verdict in a road accident case after the regular stenographer left the court threatening that he will commit suicide. JMFC Neha Garg of Karkardooma Courts recorded in its order that the judgment could not be dictated as the regular stenographer of the court left the court after threatening that he will commit suicide. The Court then relisted the matter for pronouncement of verdict on May 09 at 2 PM.

The Delhi High Court yesterday imposed Rs. 20,000 as costs after a Central Government standing counsel sought repeated adjournments in an IPR case. Justice Saurabh Banerjee renotified the matter and granted adjournment, subject to payment of costs to be paid to the Army Central Welfare Fund by the Central Government within four weeks. The Court was dealing with a commercial appeal filed in the High Court's Intellectual Property Division (IPD).

The Delhi High Court on Friday said that it will hear on May 23 the appeals filed against a single judge ruling which held that service charge and tips are voluntary payments by consumers and cannot be made compulsory or mandatory on food bills by restaurants or hotels. The appeals have been filed by National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) and Federation of Hotels and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI).
