    The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority held a meeting in Norman Tuesday night at the Countdown Event Center to gather input on where the South Extension turnpike route might be located. Norman residents, including several members of anti-turnpike advocacy group Pike Off OTA were present. Tensions flared as hundreds of residents pushed back against the OTA, shouting down officials and demanding the turnpike not be built in their neighborhoods.

    The Norman City Council approved a phasing plan for the Rock Creek Entertainment District in a special meeting Tuesday. The council greenlit two parts of the development:The first includes a multipurpose performance venue and sports arena. The second includes an outdoor community plaza, retail space and a hotel. Additionally, office space and multifamily housing units could be included depending on market demand.

    Oklahomans are bracing for another round of severe weather Monday. The National Weather Service in Norman says widespread severe weather is likely later this afternoon and into the evening hours. All hazards will be possible, including large hail up to softball size, significant damaging winds and tornadoes—some of which may be strong.

The Weather Service encourages Oklahomans to have plan, stay plugged in to the weather and have multiple ways to receive a weather warning.
