Suspected warlords in the lingering communal crisis between the people of Ishinkwor and Abaomege in Onicha local government area of Ebonyi State have set a government-owned excavator ablaze. Our correspondent reports that the excavator was deployed by the State Government for the ongoing boundary demarcation exercise in the disputed land. The two neighbouring communities have been at war for many years over a vast fertile land with many lives lost and properties worth billions of naira destroyed.

An Abuja-based town planner, Dr. Chinedu Okoro, has blamed regulatory agencies for the incessant building deficiencies, inability to follow a city master plan, collapsed buildings, and other irregularities witnessed in the building and town planning of Nigerian cities. The Ebonyi State commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Mr Jude Okpor, has called on the former spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State, Mr Joe Igbokwe to apologise to the people of Ebonyi State over what he described as negative profiling of Ebonyi State and its people. In a statement, Mr Okpor expressed sadness over a post credited to Mr Igbokwe on the attack by suspected ESN/IPOB members in Okigwe, Imo State.
