Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has been named among the nominees for the 2024 Best Men’s Player award, part of the annual Globe Soccer Awards hosted by the Dubai Sports Council. Lookman and Liverpool superstar Mohammed Salah are the only Africans on the shortlist. Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Vinicius Junior, Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandoski, Cole Palmer, and Jude Bellingham are among the other nominees for the award. Lookman has enjoyed an outstanding year for both club and country.

Gabriel Osho says he is elated with the opportunity to finally play for the three-time African Champions. The Auxerre defender was invited by former Super Eagles coach Finidi George for the first time in March but could not make his debut due to injury. He was included in the squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Benin Republic and Rwanda giving him the chance to make his debut for the West African side.

The president of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), Evelyn Oyome has announced Nigeria’s interest in hosting the prestigious All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) in 2026. Onome revealed that Nigerian female golfers will be heading to Morocco next week to compete in the 2024 All Africa Challenge Trophy with a goal to win the tournament. A total of 72 participants are expected to take part, while Nigeria also plans to submit a bid to host the tournament in the future.
