The VW Polo left the road and crashed in The Dale, Stoney Middleton, at 03:50 BST on Saturday, police said. The driver suffered serious injuries and died at the scene. Police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the crash to get in touch.

Drivers are being asked to avoid a main route after a bus caught fire on the road. Fire crews were called to the blaze on the A52 westbound between Gamston and West Bridgford in Nottinghamshire at about 18:20 BST on Wednesday. No-one has been injured, a spokeswoman for the fire service said. Traffic is currently blocked towards Nottingham, and police are also at the scene. Pictures of the aftermath show the bus completely burnt out.
