The Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust is calling on English Heritage to carry out urgent repairs to Wingfield Manor near Alfreton. Historians say the manor was once a jewel in Derbyshire's crown and on par with Haddon Hall and Chatsworth.

Two men have died in a light aircraft crash at a race track. Emergency services were first called to Darley Moor race track at about 11:30 BST on Tuesday and remain at the scene, Derbyshire Police said. People have been urged to avoid the area, which is just over three miles from the town of Ashbourne in Derbyshire. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched an investigation into the crash and flying restrictions are in place.
