The LSU Student Senate passed a resolution Wednesday evening urging LSU to prohibit all live tigers from entering Tiger Stadium. The resolution, authored by Speaker Pro Tempore Ethan Elmer, a computer science junior, and co-sponsored by 14 other senators, passed unanimously and is to be sent to LSU President William F. Tate IV, LSU Athletics Director Scott Woodward and Gov. Jeff Landry among others.

Americans will head to the polls this Tuesday to vote in the 2024 election, deciding on a multitude of local and statewide contests as well as the race for president of the United States. Here is what the LSU community needs to know about the election. To vote on Election Day, a person must first be registered to vote in the state and municipality in which they reside.

LSU will close its campus Wednesday, April 10 and move classes online due to forecasted severe weather. Announced via an email to the LSU community Tuesday evening, faculty are expected to hold classes "remotely or in an asynchronous format" and communicate to students on any changes to class. Residence halls will remain open, and dining halls will update students on meal availability throughout the day.

The LSU Student Government Election Commission postponed announcing voting results Wednesday following confusion and disagreement over the election code. "There is a piece of the code that can be interpreted in two different ways," said Election Commission Chair Kennedy Dorr, "and we are waiting for a better answer on what they meant."The delay comes amid a slew of unresolved judicial complaints filed by the Empower and Energize campaigns. The phenomenon is common to SG elections.

LSU suspended the Theta Xi fraternity from campus after three members received criminal citations for violating Louisiana's anti-hazing laws. The fraternity is suspended from LSU's campus for three years and was forced to vacate their house at the end of last month, according to a letter sent by university officials in December.
