Niskayuna Central School District is rebranding from the “Silver Warriors” moniker to "Niskayuna" or “Nisky,” after a statewide mandate requiring schools to remove Native American-themed logos, mascots, names and imagery. The decision was voted on during the School Board’s April 8 meeting. An agenda item for that meeting recommended approval of the replacement “Silver Knights” moniker, as voted on by members of the school community. However, board members opted to go a different route.

TROY, N.Y. (WRGB) — A class of third graders in Lansingburgh Central School District is now learning in a state-of-the-art classroom, thanks to a furniture giveaway from manufacturer KI. In March, CBS6 got a look inside the newly updated classroom, speaking with students about what excited them most. “I think the new classroom is amazing,” one student said. The new tables and chairs were highlighted by other students as their favorite changes to the classroom.

But this small campus is not a typical residential treatment center. Founded in 1895, then-called The Charlton Industrial Farm School was meant to help boys experiencing homelessness. By 1955, The Charlton School’s mission had shifted, with a new focus on empowering girls.

NISKAYUNA, N.Y. (WRGB) — Middle school students in Niskayuna can expect reconfiguration to begin earlier than anticipated – in September – with construction having moved ahead of schedule. WASHINGTON (WRGB) — Dozens of students from Middleburgh Central School District were among the hundreds of thousands of Americans who flocked to the nation’s capital in January for the 2025 presidential inauguration. The trip marks the district’s third attempt at bringing students to witness the historic event. In 2017, the inaugural field trip brought students to Washington, D.C. for President Donald Trump’s swearing in.
