    LAGOS – Data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), has revealed that no fewer than 200,000 live animals were shipped globally by airlines in 2024. The data showed an increase of 11 per cent since 2019. IATA stated these on Wednesday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the launch of its Live Animal Regulations (LAR) Verify, a digital portal to improve the welfare and safe transport of live animals by air.
