Donald Trump is escalating his war against civil rights at home and against much of the world in his foreign policy. He is leading a global surge of far-right assault on what little democracy most of us have. The threat is clear and is made more dire by the fecklessness and cowardice of the mainstream of the Democratic Party. The mainstream media has played its dutiful role in normalizing Trump’s behavior.
