Wheely good: Singapore’s public buses get a facelift

This revamp is meant to address wear and tear, and ensure the buses remain in good working condition. Of the vehicles undergoing a facelift, 364 are single-decker buses that are being refreshed by coach refurbishment company Wah Sheng Motor Supply, while 265 are double-deckers being revamped by automotive engineering firm ComfortDelGro Engineering. Bus models in this exercise include the Mercedes-Benz Citaro O530, MAN A22, Volvo B9TL and Alexander Dennis Enviro500.

Senior occupational therapist Giang Thuy Anh (bottom left) decided that that wasn’t right and did something about it. She decided to bring the garden to them using mobile horticulture trolleys, an initiative she calls Garden by the Bed. “The objective of our project is to improve the well-being of the patients. Many of our patients in the acute care wards are not fit enough to go to the garden. That’s why we want to bring the garden to them. That was the idea behind Garden by the Bed,” she says.
