Sunday will be breezy and Monday will be quieter but cloudier. Delta breezes will help keep the region cool tonight, increasing to around 15 mph for the evening. Our next weather system arrives Sunday, bringing a new round of breezy conditions to the Bay Area and Central Valley—this time with stronger winds. Southwesterly gusts could reach up to 30 mph in the Valley, with sustained winds between 10 and 20 mph by Sunday afternoon.

GUSTS ARE, BUT THEY REALLY DO POSE A THREAT TO SOME AREAS, RIGHT? YEAH, I WALKED OUT TODAY. THE BREEZES WERE NOT THAT BAD. BUT THE PROBLEM IS THEY’RE COMING OUT OF THE NORTH, WHICH MAKES IT A DRY AND WARM WIND. AND WHEN THOSE FIRES GET GOING, IT CAN PUSH THOSE FIRES A VERY LONG WAY IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. HERE’S A LOOK OUT FROM OUR CAMERA UP AT SUTTER. BUTTE A LITTLE TREMBLING IN THE CAMERA THERE AND CLEAR SKIES. ALL SIGNS THAT WE ARE BEHIND A COLD FRONT.

YEAH. CLEAR SKIES OVER STOCKTON A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT VIEW OVER DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO WHERE WE HAVE A COUPLE CLOUDS HANGING OVERHEAD AFTER A COLD FRONT MOVED THROUGH. BUT FOR US, IT WAS A NORMALIZING FRONT. IT BROUGHT TEMPERATURES DOWN INTO THE LOW 80S TODAY, WHICH IS NOT TOO FAR FROM OUR NORMAL OF 81 DEGREES. OUR DAILY RECORD HIGH 102, SET BACK IN 2008. WE’RE CURRENTLY DROPPING TO 73 IN THE SACRAMENTO VALLEY. RIGHT NOW WE HAVE A LIGHT BREEZE.

REALLY START TO CHANGE OVERNIGHT. YEAH. BIG TREAT FOR MOM TODAY. BUT YOU’RE RIGHT. WE’VE GOT MORE CHANGES COMING, INCLUDING SOME SHOWERS FOR YOUR MORNING COMMUTE. BUT TEMPERATURES TODAY ONLY TOPPED OUT IN THE MID 70S. COMPARE THAT TO THE MID 90S WE HAD YESTERDAY. SO ABOUT A 20 DEGREE TEMPERATURE DROP. ALSO SHARP TEMPERATURE DROPS IN YUBA CITY IN STOCKTON AND MODESTO, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE A LITTLE BIT WARMER WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW 80S.
