It's unlikely that the High Court of Justice will uphold Education Minister Yoav Kisch's decision to disqualify professor Eva Illouz of the Hebrew University for the Israel Prize in Sociology. Like his colleagues in the government, Kisch would rather die than respect the law. In his view, the main role of the Israel Prize is to serve as a political whip.
