Students who cycle, run or stroll off-campus on Bol Park’s bike path often slow their motion to stop and greet the Barron Park donkeys, a small herd of donkeys that live in a sanctuary just under two miles from EVGR. In recent weeks, however, these visits have been more frequent and more solemn, paying respect to Perry the donkey, who died earlier this month.

Former President Donald Trump regained control over three swing states to be elected the nation’s 47th president early Wednesday morning. The Associated Press declared Trump winner just after 2:30 a.m. After holding a 43-electoral vote lead over Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Republican candidate tallied 277 votes — more than the 270 needed to win — when he captured Wisconsin, which had voted Democrat in the last presidential race.

On a cold November day in 2022, I showed up to one of Stanford Running Club’s “claw runs” — informal, social runs that take place starting at the Claw Fountain several times a week. A girl (who unbeknownst to me would become one of my closest friends) hopped up on the fountain, explained that she would be leading seven miles at an easy pace and headed towards the foothills behind campus. At this point, I’d done several half-marathons.
