Wild Oysters are set to be introduced into Conwy Bay after an almost two-year delay was brought to an end by a succession of storms. Bangor University have been given permission to proceed to the final stage of the project and "reseed" a 660-tonne artificial reef. Harbourmaster Matthew Forbes said the project would "finally move towards completion" with the first distribution run set to take place on Friday.

Two women have died after being found in a pool at Wales' largest national park. North Wales Police said they were called to Nant Gwynant, Gwynedd, at 21:31 BST on Wednesday in Eryri National Park, also known as Snowdonia. One woman was reported to be in the pool on the Watkin Path, one of the main routes to the summit of Yr Wyddfa, Wales' tallest mountain. The second woman was pulled from the water but pronounced dead at the scene, the force said.

Vandals have destroyed a block of toilets which were being used by employees and visitors of an owl sanctuary in Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent. The incident took place at the sanctuary, in Festival Park, on 4 April and it was then attacked a second time a few days later. All of the toilets and mirrors were smashed with water leaking throughout the night rendering it unsafe to use. The sanctuary have said the toilet block is irreparable and will cost about £10,000 to be replaced.
