A rollercoaster enthusiast mourning the closure of Wales' largest theme park has been left worried for the future of its most iconic ride. Charlotte Brandford, from London, travels the world to go on rollercoasters and has reached as far as Japan for her thrill-seeking hobby which she blogs about online under the name Diary of a Rollercoaster Girl. The 41-year-old said Oakwood's Megafobia was "one of the best" rollercoasters in the UK and is incomparable to other attractions.

The dad of a seven-year-old who died of Aids after being given infected blood has described the compensation being paid as "blood money". Colin Smith, a haemophiliac from Newport, died in 1990 after being given infected blood products imported from the United States. His father, also called Colin, said the interim compensation of £100,000 was "recognition" of what his son went through, but he still wanted people to be prosecuted.

The Reform party have set their sights on the Senedd elections after receiving the third largest share of the votes in Wales. Candidate Oliver Lewis predicted the party could get 20 to 25 seats from the 2026 vote. Mr Lewis lost out after coming second to Labour in Montgomeryshire and Glyndwr in the general election.
