The choir of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) bloc of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has won the 2025 Easter Choral competition in Ebonyi state. The event was organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ebonyi State chapter, in collaboration with the Ebonyi State government. It was held Thursday at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital, with the theme: “Resurrection and Renewal”.

There was a downpour of sorrow on Friday as the body of a 45-year-old woman, Ugochukwu Chima, allegedly killed by her husband in a domestic violence, was laid to rest in her home, Itim, in Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The lady died on October 24, 2024 with her death linked to severe injuries inflicted on her by her husband in a violent attack. The attack was reportedly carried out on September 4, 2024.
