A man accused of murder will face retrial after a ruling by the Court of Appeal. Davin Dill, 26, was charged with murdering 22-year-old Joshua Rowse along with possessing a bladed article, specifically a knife, in a public place on June 14, 2020. The case went to trial in 2023 but on September 8 that year, after legal arguments held in the absence of the jury, the trial judge directed the jury to enter verdicts of not guilty.
Judge upholds conviction for senior abuse at care home

Sexual offence defendant discharged from case

Prosecutors told a court yesterday that they would not move forward with charges against a man accused of sexual offences against a minor. The defendant, a 44-year-old Pembroke man, had been charged with having sexual contact with a girl under the age of 14 and having unlawful carnal knowledge of the same girl. Neither the defendant nor the complainant can be identified for legal reasons. Both offences were alleged to have occurred between May 1 and June 30, 2021.
New bulk energy generation licences available

Police have launched an investigation after a woman was found in an unresponsive state near a playground on Thursday morning. A police spokesman said that emergency services were dispatched shortly before 11.30am to the Warwick Playground after a woman was found on rocks near the trails. "Upon arrival, emergency personnel immediately provided medical assistance to the woman who, although unresponsive, was breathing," the spokesman said.

A Bermudian charged with fatally shooting his mother has been found not guilty by a Florida jury after a trial. Alexander Deltoro Jr was accused of shooting Cindy Deltoro in the face outside his parents' home in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Margate and was charged with manslaughter. However, he said in court that he was attempting to defend himself from his father and accidentally shot his mother in a scuffle.
