LaFayette will have a brand new face of the team this season as Kemare Harrington is set to lead the charge. Harrington is going to be a junior this season, but he does not have a ton of experience at the high school level. He spent time playing some on defense last season and has also been one of the stars on the junior varsity squad in the past.

Chambers County has become heavily represented in college football, and that meant that several local standouts found themselves going digital for the first time. To nobody’s surprise, former Lanett star Kristian Story is the highest-rated player from Chambers County in the game. Story graduated from Lanett in 2020 as one of the top recruits in the country.

There are only 85 scholarships available for each Division I team, and there are over 1.5 million high school players. The odds of getting a scholarship are less than 1%. Springwood’s Greg Johnson has been working to increase his odds this summer. Johnson transferred to Springwood from Opelika before school started last year.

Several athletes have come from local schools and dominated athletically for the Skyhawks. Payton Allen was a dominant athlete in high school, and now he is looking to finally put his stamp on Point during his fourth year on the college gridiron.

Published 2:54 pm Friday, July 12, 2024 The Panthers hit the road for one of the last times this offseason as Lanett traveled to Opelika High School on Thursday to compete in one of the team’s biggest 7-on-7s of the summer. Lanett started the day in pool play with a matchup against Handley, Opelika’s junior varsity team and Eufaula. The 7-on-7 then turned into tournament play afterward.
