However, the Manchester side gave the Tigers a run for their money, and came close to snatching victory on the last play of the game. The Tigers were in full control and deservedly shot into a 22-4 lead after going in at the break at 22-0.

3 1/1 WIDNES VIKINGS 12 BARROW RAIDERS 37 BARROW pulled off a brilliant away victory at the Halton Stadium running in six converted tries against a Vikings side that had won three out of their last four games, with Brad Walker chipping in with a drop goal. Joe Bullock made a try-scoring return for Barrow in his loan spell from Salford, before limping off with a foot injury.

The former Barrow forward is unable to play for his parent club due to their financial problems. Bullock was as big hit with the fans during his four-year stint at Raiders between 2014-18 making just over 100 appearances.

Coach Paul Crarey is delighted with the return of the powerful prop forward for the game this weekend.

A strong Oldham side faced a Barrow 17 lacking nine regulars, but they contested throughout and were leading at the hour mark, until the home side stepped up a gear to book their semi-final spot.
