    Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL) will host Word on the Shelf on Dec. 4 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Teen Program Room at the main location. Karen Steinberger, Teen Services Librarian at CCPL, said the event is only open to the Teen Volunteer Corps (TVC) to earn community service hours. “Students in grades 6-12 are welcome to attend the Read-In; however, only members of CCPL’s Teen Volunteer Corps (TVC) are eligible to earn service hours,” she said.

    Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL) will host a creative writing club geared towards students in high school. This event will occur on Nov. 7 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm in the Teens Program Room at the library’s main branch. Karen Steinberger, Teen Services Librarian at CCPL, said this event is entirely student led. “The club is called ‘Inklings,’ and they do everything related to creative writing,” she said.

    In the eagerly awaited release of A House of Flame and Shadow by renowned fantasy author Sarah J. Maas, fans were primed for a journey that would cross over the intricate realms she had crafted in her previous works. Yet, what unfolded within its pages left many readers, myself included, incredibly disheartened and disappointed.  The book was advertised as a pivotal crossover that would unite the worlds that Maas had created and failed to deliver on its promise.
