Local resident and former Parmiter’s School pupil Zerina has admitted that her career hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Zerina joined the National Youth Theatre in 2011 and also performed at the London 2012 Olympics.

The Friends of Chorleywood Signal Box (FOCSB) held their final meeting in March and declared the end of their project. On Wednesday, March 26, Chorleywood Residents’ Association (CRA) announced the heartbreaking news that FOCSB would no longer be working on their project to turn the unused signal box at Chorleywood Station into a heritage museum. FOCSB was formed by the late councillor Martin Trevett and CRA chair Owen Edis.

A keen knitter has used her talent to help raise thousands of pounds for Michael Sobell House at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood. Val Fitch hosts a stall on the first Saturday of every month from April to December at the Ickenham & District Society of Model Engineers. Visitors can buy her adorable chicks, as well as other seasonal crafts. For the last three years, Val has raised an average of £1,250 for Michael Sobell House each year.

Young filmmakers from Chorleywood came together to celebrate the directors and producers of the future at the annual Chorleywood Film Club Competition awards. On Saturday, March 22, Chorleywood Memorial Hall was filled with budding young filmmakers, family and friends to watch this year’s entries. This year’s competition was organised by Chorleywood resident and filmmaker Eleanor Dolan and the awards were presented by fellow filmmaker Tom Clarkson.
