    I spent the first eleven years of my career working in higher education. I’ve been faculty, staff, and consultant; I’m also married to someone who spent over a decade in university admissions. It’s been common conversation in our home for years that higher education is facing a reckoning and will be forced through massive change. Because every stand-up comedian told jokes about it, and people always laughed. I saw Matt’s post and immediately felt the truth of it. I also felt kind of dumb for being so reticent. I knew that President Biden should not have run again. I said it for years, but I never said it emphatically enough.
