KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney is accepting entries for its 2024 homecoming parade. Area businesses, nonprofits and marching bands are invited to join UNK student organizations for the event, scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 12 in downtown Kearney. “This year’s theme is Louie’s Harvest Homecoming, focusing on not only nature’s gifts during the fall season but an opportunity for the campus and community to come together,” said Renae Zimmer, director of UNK Student Engagement.

LINCOLN — The Nebraska State Patrol broke ground today on a $26 million dollar expansion project for the NSP Crime Laboratory. The project will increase the footprint of the existing Crime Lab from 31,000 square feet to 59,000 square feet. “Our dedicated team of scientists at the NSP Crime Lab provides excellent service to law enforcement agencies across the state, but they need more room to operate,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol.
