SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — In a letter distributed to the campus community Thursday evening, San Diego State University says four international students have had their visas revoked. University President Adela de la Torre penned the letter to the campus saying the federal government did not coordinate with the school or give SDSU any advance notice. The letter also reminded students, teachers and staff not to give any information to immigration officials and to refer them all to university officials.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department says one person has died and two more were in critical condition after a pickup truck plunged into the San Diego Bay off of Harbor Island Thursday night. According to police, the incident happened around 9 p.m., as the truck sped down Harbor Island Drive, went through two intersections and entered the San Diego Bay from the southern edge of Harbor Island.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The U.S. Coast Guard says it teamed up with the Navy to rescue 18 people, most of whom were migrants, from a disabled vessel about 50 miles off the San Diego coast on Sunday. According to the Coast Guard's press release, the rescue happened around 7:55 a.m., when the 35-foot vessel holding the people was spotted in international waters southwest of San Diego taking on water and asking for help.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A spokesperson for Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego says a low level of the Legionella bacteria was detected in one of the hospital's facilities. Legionella is the bacteria that causes Legionnaires' disease and Pontiac fever, according to the CDC's website. The bacteria spreads through various water systems, including showerheads, sink faucets, hot tubs, large plumbing systems and more.

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) — The National City Police Department says it has arrested a teen in connection to a Nov. 2024 house party shooting in which a 12-year-old boy was killed. According to NCPD, officers responded to calls reporting shots fired in the 1000 block of N Avenue in National City around 11:45 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2024. Five people out of the hundreds attending the party were shot, and paramedics provided first aid and took the injured to the hospital.
