A Galway football star has called a particular part of the new GAA rules 'crazy' as he expressed his sympathy for his Mayo counterpart. Galway's ace Robert Finnerty reckons that Ryan O'Donoghue was hard done by, suggesting the outstanding long-range free in the recent Connacht showdown should've earned a double score.

Louth 1-18 Kildare 0-18 The gauntlet was laid down to the Louth players during the week: Croke Park or Fraher Field. The Leinster Championship has long since lost its sheen but this semi-final was shaping up as the most consequential of all games across the four provinces from a long way out once Louth finished sixth in Division Two and were vulnerable to the Tailteann Cup trapdoor. Kildare boss Brian Flanagan admitted that the Tailteann Cup is where his side deserves to be after slipping out of the Leinster Championship. Liam Cahill moved quickly after last Sunday’s pulsating draw with Limerick to declare that Tipperary aren’t back yet - and he would have made that remark very much with this fixture in mind and how Tipperary struggled at this venue in the League final. Verdict: Clare Where is the game being played?

@TheSundayGame Louth lost to Longford in 1st round of Leinster SFC just 5 years ago in 2020. Louth didn't need more new tiers to get themselves from where they were then to where they are now. Advancement is not predicated upon additional tiers, it's down to your structures, focus & vision.

Dublin footballers going to Salthill on Saturday means that they will play three consecutive championship games outside of Croke Park for the first time since 2004, when they played London, Leitrim and Longford in Parnell Park, Carrick-on-Shannon and Portlaoise respectively.

RT @BHDFlanagan: Congrats to Louth from a gutted Meath man. Some great coverage of an historic Leinster Final in Monday's @isfearranstar an…
