Matthew Lani outside the Johannesburg magistrate’s court TikTok sensation ‘Dr’ Matthew Lani is off the hook after the National Prosecuting Authority found no evidence of wrongdoing. Lani, who has been dominating the news was set to make his first appearance at Johannesburg magistrate’s court on Tuesday, however, he never made it inside the courtroom, after prosecutors decided there was no case to answer.

South African Music Awards The South African Music Awards (Samas) say they will seek further consultation before taking final decision on whether to officially cancel or proceed with plans to stage the 29th instalment of the awards. This after the KwaZulu-Natal government pulled the plug at the 11th hour on hosting the awards on November 17 and 18 at Durban ICC.

KwaZulu-Natal will no longer host the South African Music Awards (Samas) which were set to take place in Durban on November 17 and 18. The province announced on Wednesday that it was no longer staging the event that honours excellency in the music industry, citing “the cost-cutting measures and fiscal discipline”. MEC for economic development and environmental affairs Siboniso Duma said they have taken a decision following a wide consultation with other stakeholders.
