Several Iranian citizens were denied entry into Colombia in recent days after allegedly using false or suspicious identification, Colombian migration officials told newspaper El Tiempo. The newspaper, citing unnamed sources within Colombia Migration, wrote that there were multiple incidents at different entry points to the country, including Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport as well as in Cúcuta, a city on the border with Venezuela.

It has been nearly four months since President Nicolas Maduro won Venezuela’s presidential election, which was widely disputed for the government’s failure to provide precinct-level evidence of his victory. Even before the election, consulting firm ORC Consultores projected that 18% of Venezuelans would be willing to migrate within six months after an election if Maduro retained power.

Uruguay’s President Luis Lacalle Pou signed a bill in October to regulate cryptocurrency in the country. The new law, which was initially proposed over two years ago, recognizes cryptocurrency as virtual assets and gives the Uruguayan Central Bank the power to regulate the currency.

Venezuela’s opposition presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia left the country on Saturday after seeking asylum in Spain. Nicolás Maduro’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez shared an Instagram post which informed that González left the country after “voluntarily” seeking political asylum at the Spanish Embassy. González was granted safe passage by the Maduro regime for “the sake of the tranquility and political peace of the country”, the statement added.
