Ohio State’s busy month of recruiting continued on Tuesday with the team’s fifth and final one-day camp of the season, and the session ended — as always — with the school handing out some offers to some happy campers. The most notable scholarship given out after the camp was to Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna 2027 safety/wide receiver Angelo Smith (5-9, 160), whose high school and last name might be familiar to Buckeye fans as he is the younger brother of star sophomore wideout Jeremiah Smith.

Ohio State football sports information director Jerry Emig will retire this March after spending the last 15 years in the role and the last seven as the athletic department’s director of communications. “As the leader of our communications team, Jerry has been a consistent and passionate advocate for our student-athletes, ensuring their stories are shared with authenticity and pride,” Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork said in a release.

June is typically a busy month for recruiting in college football, and that was no different at Ohio State this week. The Buckeyes hosted three consecutive recruiting camps from Monday-Wednesday, and with competition between some of the country’s top prospects high, several players earned scholarship offers from the school due to their strong play.

Cleveland Richmond Heights four-star shooting guard Dorian Jones (6-3, 160) will officially reopen his recruitment after he reportedly requested his release from Ohio State on Wednesday. The news came just five days after he announced that he would no longer be enrolling at Ohio State for the 2025-26 season and would instead join a junior college or high school preparatory school.
