Baylor School sophomore Rylan Jesse was all smiles after receiving a well-deserved ice bath from his Red Raiders teammates for starring in Wednesday night's 14-4 victory over McCallie at AT&T Field. The opponent being the rival Blue Tornado no doubt played a part in his exuberance, but so did the location. Having grown up as a big fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Jesse produced in a big way on the field of his favorite Major League Baseball team's Double-A affiliate, the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Chattanooga will have a chance to make an impression on the global soccer scene this summer while serving as a base camp location for the 32-team FIFA Club World Cup. Despite legendary Baylor softball head coach Kelli Smith not being present for her team's archival showdown against GPS, the result was still much the same for the Red Raiders, who rolled to a 13-2 Division II-AA East Region rout in six innings Tuesday at home for their eighth straight win over the Bruisers. After having an appeal denied by the TSSAA for Smith's ejection this past weekend in a tournament where she believed she was just confined to the dugout, Baylor had their coach's back early.

Chattanooga Christian School didn't let an early deficit keep it from a dominant performance Wednesday night at McCallie. The end result was a 3-1 victory for the visiting Chargers, who remained undefeated this season while beating region rival McCallie for the first time in 24 years and ending a 24-game unbeaten streak for the Blue Tornado, the reigning state champions in TSSAA Division II-AA.
