HUMPHREY — Plans are moving forward to build a new St. Francis Elementary School. The Rev. Stan Schmit shared in a letter that approval had been granted by Archbishop George Lucas to move forward with the initial planning and feasibility stages for constructing a new elementary school. “This marks an important milestone in strengthening our parish’s dedication to Catholic education and fostering a promising future for our children,” Schmit said.

HUMPHREY — St. Francis Elementary School and Archangels Catholic High School are hiring additional staff and officially adding the pre-kindergarten program to the school. The Humphrey St. Francis school board has decided that starting in the 2025-26 school year, the St. Francis pre-kindergarten will be part of the school after previously operating independently. The pre-kindergarten program will be offered in two sessions: Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and Tuesday and Thursday.

HUMPHREY — For 20 years, Jeff Kudron’s been pouring drinks at Kudron’s Keg. The staple on Main Street Humphrey reached the milestone Tuesday, and Kudron will celebrate Saturday with a pair of bands on tap to help entertain. Vivian, a local band made up of his son, Chauncey Kudron, Carter Howard, Jacob Keller, Carson Wegener and Matthew Brockhaus, will open for Rapid Fire. Jeff Kudron, 57, grew up in the bar business.

LINDSAY — Ballots are being mailed to registered voters in Lindsay who will decide whether the village will implement a 1.5% sales tax. Ballots were mailed last Monday, according to election commissioner Eryn Roberts. The special election is Tuesday, April 15. Members of the Lindsay Village Board of Trustees approved at the Feb. 3 meeting a resolution for a special election on the proposed sales tax.
