PHILADELPHIA -- Rob Thomson was asked before Sunday's series finale against the Marlins if he thought the Phillies had a bullpen issue. "I don't," Thomson said. "Because it's still a small sample size. I know we have really good arms, really good stuff out there. We've just got to keep working at it, keep grinding through it."A few hours later, he watched Orion Kerkering serve up a go-ahead three-run homer to Javier Sanoja in the eighth inning.

Please excuse one (1) hockey post … With Alex Ovechkin breaking Wayne Gretzky’s goals record, perfect time to revisit my all-time favorite stat. If you take away ALL of Gretzky’s 894 goals, he’s STILL the NHL’s all-time points leader: 1. Gretzky: 2,857 2. Jaromir Jagr: 1,921

Edmundo Sosa is staying in the game as the center fielder after entering as a pinch-hitter last inning. It's just his 3rd career appearance in CF -- and his first since 2023. Certainly something to keep an eye on as Phillies try to find more ways to keep his bat in the lineup.

Most K's by any Phillies pitcher in his first 2 starts with the team: 1. Vince Velasquez - 25 2. Jim Bunning - 20 3. Jesus Luzardo - 19* t4. Roy Halladay - 17 t4. Lowell Palmer - 17 * including 8 in 7 scoreless IP vs. Dodgers tonight
