TDs are due to vote on a Sinn Féin bill which seeks to prevent the Central Bank from having any involvement with Israeli bonds. The Government has indicated it will oppose the proposal, in part, for legal reasons. Last night, a debate on the matter was interrupted after around 40 people were removed from the public gallery.

The Dáil was suspended for a time tonight during a debate on a bill brought forward by Sinn Féin which seeks to prevent the Irish Central Bank dealing with Israeli bonds. They reacted after Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe detailed why the Government is opposing the Sinn Féin private members motion.

Cabinet took a first step today and gave approval to Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Harris to draft an Occupied Territories Bill. It has been a long road for Independent Senator Frances Black, who first tabled her proposed legislation on the topic back in 2018. The next step comes when Mr Harris seeks ministerial approval for what's termed a draft scheme - an outline of what the legislation will contain.

Tánaiste Simon Harris has secured Cabinet approval for the drafting of legislation which will allow for the ratification of the controversial EU-Canada trade deal. The Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement is a deal reached between the EU and Canada which requires the backing of parliaments across all the EU member states to be fully operational.
