The Minister for Housing James Browne will bring a report to Cabinet this morning from the Land Development Agency on its latest assessment of the potential for housing development on public lands this year. This LDA first provided such a report for Government in 2023. It breaks down publicly owned sites into how much investment would be required on them to develop housing, from least constrained, to moderately and significantly constrained.

Tánaiste Simon Harris will update the Cabinet this morning on his engagement with EU trade ministers in Luxembourg yesterday, where he said there was unity on the need for a firm but proportionate response to US President Donald Trump's tariffs. Mr Harris will travel to Washington later for a series of meetings with congressional figures and senior administration representatives, including Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

New standing orders in the Dáil mean that the Regional Independent group, of which Michael Lowry is a member, will be able to ask questions of the Taoiseach Micheál Martin for the first time. Deputy Lowry said last night's Dáil vote of confidence in Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy was a significant victory for democracy. The Dáil voted confidence in the Ceann Comhairle by a substantial majority - 96 votes to 71.
