In a judgment handed down on Wednesday 19 February 2025(Nasir v Zavarco Plc [2025] UKSC 5), theSupreme Court has held that the esoteric but longstanding doctrineof merger, which prevents a party from seeking any further reliefon a cause of action once a judgment has been given upon it, doesnot apply to declaratory judgments.
