Tournament MVP Payton Hopkins finished 3-for-6 with an RBI as Avoca-Prattsburgh (12-1) breezed to a 24-0 win over Clinton (III) in the championship round at Mudville. Hopkins scored twice in the first inning when the Titans pushed across 13 runs in the opening frame. Teammate Meyah Putnam started, hurled two scoreless innings and went 2-3 with an RBI. Charlotte Peck drove in a run and was 4-5. Alydia McIntyre had three RBI as part of a 3-5 effort at the plate.

By PAUL GOTHAMJack Keagle (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and logged his longest career appearance, but it wasn’t enough as Monroe Community College Baseball (25-17) lost to UConn-Avery Point (UCAP), 3-2 in the third and deciding game of the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) East Sub-District Series, Sunday at Tribune Field. With the loss, MCC’s season comes to an end.

By PAUL GOTHAMROCHESTER, N.Y. — One day after manufacturing five runs out of four hits in a Game 1 victory, Monroe Community College Baseball committed five errors and dropped Game 2 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) East Sub-District series to UConn-Avery Point (UCAP), 28-12. The loss was the worst for the program since a 27-11 drubbing at the hands of Allegany College of Maryland in the East District Championship on May 21st, 2006.

Kaitlyn Spring made six catches for 177 yards and a touchdown. Samantha Mau finished with three receptions for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Kylie Drake and Maddy McNally also had a touchdown catch apiece. McNally and Abrianna Cerqua both intercepted a pass.

GANANDA (8-2) 21GENEVA (10-4) 7Ella Lathrop completed 16-of-23 for 177 yards and three touchdowns. Gananda won its fourth straight. Lily Aylett finished with 85 yards through the air and two touchdowns. Aly Cruz had 57 receiving yards and one touchdown. Cruz led the Gananda defense with seven flag pulls and one interception. Lexi Gallina had seven flag pulls. Lathrop rushed for 36 yards. Maggie McGarvey had eight yards on the ground.
