Here’s your very first look at Johnny Depp in new film Day Drinking. Depp joins Madelyn Cline, and Penélope Cruz in the Lionsgate film which is directed by Marc Webb – (500) Days of Summer. The film follows a private-yacht bartender (Madelyn Cline) who encounters a mysterious, onboard guest (Johnny Depp). They soon find themselves entangled with a criminal figure (Penélope Cruz) and connected in ways no one saw coming. Sounds about as far away from Webb’s last project Snow White, right?

The film will become available to rent there tomorrow, April 15, 2025, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The film will be available on the physical formats stateside May 27, 2025. Heading to Cannes next month is Ari Aster’s new film Eddington and here’s the first teaser trailer for it courtesy of the fine folks at A24. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal and is both written and directed by Aster, his fourth feature following Hereditary, Midsommar and Beau Is Afraid. In May of 2020, a standoff between a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and mayor (Pedro Pascal) sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico.

The film’s global haul now sits at a whopping $550 million [specifically $550,561,733 according to Box-Office Mojo at the time of writing]. Just over half of that is coming from its domestic market with the UK making up the second biggest territory with nearly $40 million taken since its release nine days or so ago.
