Just got disconnected in a conference call before it was to begin. The Internet issues that I've heard about today, they're real. I wasn't even on the Internet but an actual phone line.

The first big story I ever covered was the untimely death of A. Barlett Giamatti, the MLB commissioner who had 8 days earlier banned Pete Rose from baseball. It was a big story everywhere, but in Connecticut it was huge because Giamatti had been the beloved president of Yale, too
