A BODY – believed to be that of a missing Somerset man – has been found on Exmoor. This afternoon (June 12), members of the Exmoor Search & Rescue Team made the sad discovery during a search for missing man James, of Huish Champflower. “Formal identification is yet to take place, but his family have been updated and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said. “The death is not being treated as suspicious.”

A KEY Somerset route will be closed during the day as resurfacing works are carried out. Somerset Council will be resurfacing the B3227 between Wiveliscombe and Preston Bowyer, with work scheduled between June 11 and 13, although the authority said it hoped the work will be completed in one day. During the work, the road will be closed to vehicles between 9.30am and 3pm, with pedestrian access maintained throughout for residents, with some restrictions and delays possible.
