A WEATHER warning fringing on Somerset says heavy rain could cause some travel disruption over the Easter weekend. The Met Office has issued a yellow alert for the south west which will be in place between 6pm on Good Friday until 9am the following morning. Forecasters said it comes ahead of a predicted โprolonged spell of rain, some of it heavyโ that will โlikely cause difficult driving conditions and some disruption to travelโ.

The firm, which employs hundreds of workers at a site in Bridgwater, has been awarded a gold medal from EcoVadis, which ranks supply chains on their resilience and sustainability. The award puts Nonwovenn in the top 5% of firms rated by EcoVadis around the world each year.

A MAN in his 20s suffered a โserious leg injuryโ after a crash in Blandford on Tuesday morning (April 15). The incident occurred at around 8.53am in Bournemouth Road, near the junction with Chettell Way. Police said the crash involved a white Ford Transit van and a black Honda motorcycle, with a man in his 20s taken to hospital.

MEDICSโ efforts to deliver an ambulance for Ukraine to use on the frontline in the war against Russia are set to be recognised in Parliament. Nich Woolf, chair of Somerton-based Festival Medical Services (FMS), recently travelled with three fellow charity volunteers to deliver as fully-equipped vehicle to Ukraine. It was the latest donation from FMS to support Ukraine, which was invaded by Russia three years ago.

A LARGE derelict building in Taunton was โtotally destroyedโ by fire last night. Firefighters were called to the scene, in the Comeytrowe area, at around 7.15pm on Monday evening (April 14). Two crews from Taunton attended, with another from Wellington also called out due to โthe number of calls receivedโ.
