GLOVERSVILLE — After the top of the first inning of Wednesday's Foothills Council game against Queensbury, the Gloversville softball team found itself down 10-0. To their credit, the Huskies battled back and trailed just 11-10 after two innings. After putting one run on the board in the second and third innings, the Queensbury offense erupted in the fourth and fifth innings, scoring five and six runs, respectively, to end the game via run rule 23-10.

The seeds for the Section 2 girls' flag football tournament were announced Wednesday. In Class A, Albany was awarded the top seed, while Shenendehowa was seeded second, Shaker was seeded third and Saratoga Springs was seeded fourth. In Friday's quarterfinals, Albany is scheduled to host No. 8 seed Schenectady, while Shenendehowa is set to host seventh-seeded Guilderland. Shaker is set to face sixth-seeded Niskayuna and Saratoga Springs will host fifth-seeded Colonie.
