The federal government says it has received 95,000 applications within one week of relaunching its technical and vocational education/training (TVET) initiative. Tunji Alausa, the minister of education, said the feat is a potential repositioning of technical education for economic transformation. The federal government relaunched its TVET programme on May 30 at a ceremony in Abuja.

Biola Adebayo, the Nollywood actress, has ended her marriage with Oluwaseyi Akinrinde, her husband. Adebayo and Oluseyi tied the knot on April 7, 2025. They welcomed their first child through surrogacy in 2023. But in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Adebayo revealed that she had been separated from her husband over a year ago. She said the union ended in April 2024. The filmmaker said she decided to keep the news away from the public while the estranged couple have decided to co-parent their son.

Abba Yusuf, the Kano state governor, has approved the payment of registration fees for 3,526 community school students sitting for the 2025 National Examinations Council (NECO). In a statement, Ibrahim Adam, the special adviser to the governor on Information, said the registration fee will include students writing the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) examinations.
