1. IntroductionCarotenoids are a class of naturally occurring fat-soluble pigments, mainly terpenoids, consisting of eight isoprenoid units linked at the head and tail which are commonly found in higher plants, microorganisms, algae, and a few animals [1,2]. β-carotene, an important member of the carotenoid family, is abundant in plants and fruits, and is considered to be an important source of vitamin A in the human diet [3].

1. IntroductionVolatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as acetone, xylene, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur oxide are prevalent contaminants in the air, which are recognized as being poisonous and potentially cancer-causing to humans [1,2,3]. On the other hand, these VOCs have a wide range of roles in the chemical industry [4]. Therefore, there is a potentially serious threat to human health when these VOCs leak during transportation and application.

AbstractThis study leverages China’s staggered implementation of the intellectual property pilot and demonstration city (IPPDC) policy as a quasi-natural experiment to evaluate the impact of intellectual property protection (IPP) on enterprise supply chain resilience (SCR). The empirical analysis reveals that the establishment of the IPPDC significantly enhances SCR by promoting innovation, improving technology diffusion capabilities, and fostering a cooperative culture within enterprises.
