SEVERAL public schools in Dipaculao, Aurora, have received E-learning materials from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The DOST distributed 12 units of the Prompt Recovery Education Program with Network-Enhanced Teach Aid (Prep-Net) to Dinadiawan Elementary School and Dinadiawan High School. These schools were affected by Typhoon Pepito.

SENATOR Sherwin Gatchalian hailed the signing of the Basic Education Mental Health and Well-Being Promotion Act or Republic Act No. 12080, a landmark law that increases learners’ access to mental health services. The law mandates the development of a School-Based Mental Health Program to promote the mental health and well-being of learners in all public and private schools, including those in the Alternative Learning System.

SENATOR Lito Lapid said the newly signed Republic Act No. 12077, or the Student Loan Payment Moratorium During Disasters and Emergencies Act, aims to protect the welfare of Filipino families affected by disasters. “Ang batas na ito ay handog natin sa ating mga estudyante at sa kanilang mga pamilya. Bahagi po ito ng mga batas na tutulong sa mga ating mga kababayan na naaapektuhan ng mga kalamidad,” Lapid said.

A TOTAL of 30 faculty members of Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs) participated in a five-day workshop on clinical and laboratory diagnosis of emerging fungal infections in Malaysia, free of charge. The workshop was funded by the Commission on Higher Education through the Higher Education Upskilling and Study for Advancement of Staff and Faculty Program. This initiative aims to upskill faculty members and advance studies in mycology and infectious diseases in the country.
